Farm Newsletter May 2026

The bees are buzzing, the ducklings are splashing, and the blueberries are ripening… blueberry season is almost upon us! We officially open on May 15th.

When are we open?
Wednesday – Sunday 7 am – 4 pm

How long is the u-pick season?
May 15 through June 28

How much does u-pick cost?
Like Walmart, you don’t have to pay to get in, and you don’t need an appointment: just pay for what you buy. Check out our product prices below.

What should I bring and wear?
We recommend long sleeves, loose fitting and light colored clothing (biting flies are attracted to dark colors!), closed toed shoes, a bottle of water, hat, and sunscreen. We supply buckets for picking.

What products do we offer and what are the prices?
Blueberries – $6/pint, $25/gallon
Chicken and Duck Eggs – $6/dozen
Flowers – $6/bouquet
Honey (available after harvest in early June) – $6/half pint, $12/pint
Sourdough Bread – $8/loaf, $12 for specialty loaves (rosemary, jalapeño cheddar, blueberry lemon)

We accept credit/debit cards, Venmo, and Paypal. We don’t charge extra you if you use credit/debit cards, but due to processing fees it helps if you bring cash.

We also offer a Paydirt Program – pick one for the farm, get yours for free! No unripe berries accepted.

For an extra sweet treat, add our blueberries to a variety of baked goods like these delicious Blueberry Muffins from Allrecipes.

Five Fun Facts about Ducks

  1. Ducks have excellent eyesight – they see colors more vibrantly than humans do and have a 360 degree field of vision.
  2. While most ducks live between 5-10 years, the record for the oldest duck is 49 years!
  3. Domesticated ducks require food specific to ducks (not “all flock”) because they need a higher level of niacin (vitamin B3) than other feeds provide.
  4. We raise Giant Peking ducks which lay very large white eggs. A hen can lay between 200-300 eggs annually. These eggs are known to taste extra creamy and be especially good for baking!
  5. You can purchase free-range, unmedicated, happy-hen duck eggs for $6/dz at Big Branch Apiary! We also offer Giant Peking ducklings for $12 each.
